3D X-Rays and Scanning

When a patient receives a traditional full-mouth x-ray series (18-20 small films encompassing all the teeth), the information gleaned is limited by this 2-D flat photographic view, and there is still some distortion.

With utilizing the latest three dimensional x-ray technology, the information from the areas scanned is stored digitally, and a multiplicity of images can be created from them, depending on what needs to be seen and studied.

Medical CT scanners emit fan-shaped x-ray beams that gather data in multiple slices, and might expose a patient to as much as 10 times more radiation than a CBCT scan. By contrast, a single CBCT scan delivers a dose of radiation nearly equal to that of only a standard 20-film digital full-mouth x-ray series. Unlike conventional dental x-ray machines, 3D x-ray machines have additional settings to improve image quality and size of the image. The greater the detail or image quality required, the greater the radiation exposure. If more anatomical structures need to be seen, the scan becomes larger and therefore the radiation dosage may be larger.

Laser Cavity Diagnosis

Laser technology is becoming quite commonplace in a wide variety of areas throughout the healthcare industry. Today, using a small, handheld device, it is possible to detect tooth decay that is not yet visible and would otherwise be undiagnosed by conventional methods alone. You can expect:

  • Dramatically improved early cavity detection
  • Reduced size and possibly number of fillings that might be needed, thus possibly lowering the cost of dental treatments
  • Reduced chances of unnecessary exploration of teeth that are suspected to have cavities

Additional Services

On Premise lab: Since we specialize in crowns, fixed bridges, implants, and cosmetics; having a lab on premises that specializes in these services is a major plus for our patients. We can custom color and design every crown uniquely. Our patients do not have to drive anywhere for their teeth "to match". Our technicians come from Europe and Japan where they go to school for 4 years of training. Then come here to apprentice for several years before they become master technicians.

AcceleDent®

By inserting the mouthpiece fitted around your existing orthodontics and wearing the activator for 20 minutes everyday, AcceleDent Aura can speed up tooth movement through the use of SoftPulse Technology®. Faster tooth movement may decrease the duration of your orthodontic treatment and may help to make your orthodontics more comfortable.

AcceleDent Aura Speeds Orthodontic Treatment

  • Exclusive SoftPulse Technology® applied precisely calibrated micropulses to gently accelerate the movement of your teeth as they are guided by your orthodontics.
  • Safe acceleration of the bone remodeling process complements conventional orthodontic treatment.
  • Clinically proven to move teeth up to 50% faster.

What is SoftPulse Technology® and why is it important?

Part of the way that orthodontics works is by changing or remodeling the bones surrounding your teeth. As this remodeling process is accelerated, your teeth move more quickly. That’s where AcceleDent comes in. By using tiny vibrations, or micropulses, SoftPulse Technology® is designed to speed up bone remodeling, accelerating tooth movement.

AcceleDent Aura is Cleared by the FDA

  • AcceleDent has been prescribed to thousands of patients worldwide, since its introduction in 2009.
  • Cleared by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and available only by prescription from your orthodontist.

AcceleDent Aura Helps Make Orthodontics More Comfortable

  • SoftPulse Technology® micropulses are gentle and exert up to 8x less force than a power toothbrush.
  • These micropulses can also help make your orthodontic treatment more comfortable.
